Balotelli Challenged Give Contributions More to Liverpool
Liverpool – Mario Balotelli has not shown that the performance in accordance with the expectations of Liverpool when recruited. Balotelli is now challenged to give a more significant contribution to the Reds.
The challenge comes from former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy. According to Murphy, Balotelli should pay the trust manager Brendan Rodgers had to sign him from AC Milan.
“One thing he should do is to try to repay the faith shown Brendan when it took him to Liverpool,” Murphy told the BBC.
Since landing at Anfield, Balotelli does give a very minimal contribution to the team. 24-year-old striker scored just two goals in 17 games. The amount is comparatively very little for an attacker worth 16 million pounds.
Murphy hoping Balotelli could soon prove his quality on the pitch. Because, Liverpool need someone who can be relied on the front line after Luis Suarez went and Daniel Sturridge not recover from injury.
“Until now of course he has not faired okay. People keep telling me about the huge potential he has, but its potential just came out like this. You have to show the performance on the pitch,” he said.
“From what I see, maybe he’s just an influence on one game this season. In other matches, he was very bad. The physical strength, speed, and ability in the air duel, he must give more,” said Murphy.
