De Boer Ever So Candidates Reject Liverpool and Spurs manager
Amsterdam – Amsterdam Ajax coach Frank de Boer, admitted he never refused an offer from Liverpool. De Boer also became one of the Tottenham Hotspur manager candidates.
In the past, De Boer was widely rumored to be leaving Ajax and deal with the Premier League club. Liverpool and Spurs are two clubs that once linked with the former Dutch national team defender.
The news was not a figment. De Boer was never approached the Reds and the Lilywhites.
“Two years ago I was very flattered by Liverpool asked me if I was interested in the position of their managers,” said De Boer told Sky Sports.
“There are other candidates as well. However, I have just signed a new contract (with Ajax) and I said, ‘You too early at this time’,” he added.
“Tottenham, last year, I was one of the candidates and in the end they chose (Mauricio) Pochettino and I respect that choice. There are two clubs that make me quite interested,” said De Boer.
De Boer not rule out move to the Premier League in the future. Lately he’s touted as one of the replacement candidate Alan Pardew at Newcastle United.
“I want to work in the Premier League, also in the German League and the Spanish league, because the three leagues are three of the best leagues in the world. So, I want to get that experience,” said De Boer.
