Spurs Makin Eager Pursue Big Four
Leicester – Leicester City victory over Tottenham Hotspur getting closer to the zone of the top four of the Premier League standings. Spurs were sure they had a great chance to get in there.
Spurs have struggled to beat Leicester, caretaker team, at the King Power Stadium, Friday (12/26/2014). The Lilywhites eventually only narrowly won by a score of 2-1.
Spurs directly ahead in the first minute with a goal by Harry Kane. But, Leicester equalized early in the second half through a flick Leonardo Ulloa. Christian Eriksen appeared as a decisive victory for the visitors through a free kick.
Leicester actually have more chances in this match. They make 22 trials scored, six of which led to the goal. Among these opportunities, Ulloa‘s header in the first half hit the crossbar, while Riyad Mahrez free kick in the second half thwarted the crossbar.
“I thought we played well. After they scored, we were back in control of the game and created a number of opportunities and of course Christian magical free kick gave the victory to us,” Kane said as quoted by Sky Sports.
For the Spurs, this is the third win in a row that they can in the event the Premier League after Mauricio Pochettino‘s side bowed Swansea City and Burnley.
Spurs currently sit seventh in the standings with 30 points from 18 parties. They are just two points adrift of Southampton who was fourth.
“At this time four wide open. There are many teams chase, so we have to continue to play well and focus, won victory after victory and see where our position in the standings,” said Kane.
In the next game, the Spurs will host Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Sunday (12/28/2014) tomorrow.
“Of course, Manchester United is a tough opponent on Sunday. But we‘ll deal with it after winning three consecutive wins. So, I think this is the moment for us and we can bring into the game,” said Kane.
